Default More on Republican cutting-edge anti-war movement

I've posted about this interesting coalition of peace activist Dems. (like Dennis Kucinich) and anti-interventionist Repubs. The news keeps getting more interesting, particularly as the prospect looms of anti-war Repubs challenging pro-war neo-cons and liberal interventionists in the upcoming Repub. party nomination debates.

Here's an article in the NYT on Walter Jones, conservative R from North Carolina who has, according to the Times, become a "liberal hero" and spokesperson for "the leading edge of a conservative movement to rein in American military power — a break from the muscular foreign policy of President George W. Bush" (and Mr. Obama, I'd add.):

They reflect a growing discontent within the Republican Party about the wars and a growing feeling that they don’t want to spend money on them anymore,” said John Isaacs, executive director of the Council for a Livable World, an advocacy group that promotes arms control. “They are military noninterventionists.”
Here's a nice quote from Walter: "When you talk about war, political parties don’t matter.” The article has several gems of quotes, so well worth the read.

Also, here is Ron Paul on holding the administration accountable on Libya and Pat Buchanan on the "Return of the anti-interventionist right."

The times they are a'changin, President Obama; please heed the call
don't stand in the doorway; don't block up the hall.
