Lightbulb Obama before he was famous

WTTW, a PBS station in Chicago, has a daily news show – “Chicago Tonight”. Barack Obama appeared on the show 16 times from March 13, 2000 through May 8, 2005. He appears in a variety of roles – state senator, candidate for office, constitutional law professor, etc. The last two are lengthy (30 minutes and 20 minutes) interviews with him. WTTW has posted them all online in the Obama archive.

They are fun to watch. You can see why he is so popular in Illinois. We saw little of him during the campaign - so we were really thrilled that on November 4 in Grant Park, the first words from his mouth were "Hello Chicago!"

Back to the video clips - he is usually in a panel. The first one is with Bobby Rush during the 2000 congressional race. Also, watch all the shows during the Florida recount. Both the republican lawyer and Obama did not think the federal courts would get involved.

WTTW also has a restaurant review show called "Check Please". Obama was on an episode filmed in 2001. It was kind of a pilot - and the other two guests were such stiffs that it was not shown - unit now. WTTW has an excerpt online.
Even a blind man knows when the sun is shining, he can feel it.
