It looks like the end of this year will be the year of revelations. Not some grand epic or religious revelation, but rather the reality of gossip and politically incorrect talk that everybody engages in to some degree or the other when they think they're protected by privacy.
It can also be understood as a wake up call for the fantasy of privacy and secrecy that we can still hold.
There's, of course, the wikileaks debacle. And also, Nixon's comments released
. Many of his comments are very clearly racist or discriminatory, while others, well, I wonder if they can be really reproachable.
