A plea from Thomas Jefferson
Ran across this quote from T.J. in the Christmas issue of The Economist from his first inaugural address:
"Let us reflect, that having banished from our land that religious intolerance under which mankind so long bled and suffered, we have gained little if we countenance a political intolerance as despotic, as wicked, and capable of as bitter and bloody persecutions."
Merry Christmas, all. May we find some of that "peace on Earth, goodwill toward men" that we've heard so much about.
Here's wishing you a joyful, peaceful and prosperous 2012.
Rob
