Exactly what I thought. Of course, Margaret Thatcher immediately comes to mind. Then there's the rise of the American female far Right: Michelle Malkin, Anne Coulter, Laura Ingraham, et al. If any of that lot of faux-populist bottom-dwellers got into power (god forbid), it would be essentially equivalent to rule by Cheney or Rumsfeld. (Just writing that sent shivers down my spine.)
