Er, I mean, in a very limited legal sense he's right.
He may not remember it from law school, but I do, and I'm pretty sure I went to law school before he did.
The seminal case is Ploof v. Putnam
, and it says what Mickey says it says: in cases where the defense of necessity applies, an action that would ordinarily be illegal is legal if it is necessary to prevent a greater evil.
