Re: The $14.5 Trillion Dollar Question (Adam Serwer & Dan Drezner)
I was really disappointed with this diavlog.
Two quick remarks:
1. Wikileaks is not a media organization, or a network of spies. It's for whistle-blowers. It's about making whistle-blowing an international norm by circumventing national and local laws criminalizing it. And, that's how authorities should address this issue: either decriminalize whistle-blowing, or devise an effective legal deterrent.
2. Query: Why would Nigerians riot over WikiLeaks when everyone else is bored by the substance of the cables? Are Nigerians just so tuned to the substance of these cables that they are different from anyone else in the world? Could it just be that Nigeria is this fetid, corrupt swamp ripe for riots, and blaming WikiLeaks is an error in post hoc ergo propter hoc.
