Re: Irreducibly Complex Edition (John McWhorter & Michael Behe)
What a ridiculous tongue bath.
McWhorter has every reason to be ashamed and humiliated to have been a part of this.
And Behe is just a liar. He isn't a biologist, even though he has a degree in it. Saying he's going to spend any part of his career investigating the "edge" of evolution, so that he can figure out where the limits of scientific explanation lie, is like an astrologer saying he's going to spend his career investigating the line between the physics of galaxy formation and the influence of celestial bodies on the fates of humans.
In other words, as important as academic freedom is, Behe has left the field, and is off on some bizarre pseudo-scientific frolic of his own. It's hard to see how any university justifies keeping him on its faculty.
