Re: The Scandal of the Cross (Robert P. George & Cornel West)
Full disclosure: I love hearing Cornell West talk. He is spell-binding even though I often disagree with him. At the very end of this dialogue, West makes what I think is a facile comparison between religion and science. He says that both are shot through with lies, bigotries and scandals. They are both human endeavors. This is true, as far as it goes. But whereas science encourages skepticism and ultimately the correction and revision of the errors of bigotry and falsehoods, I think religion has a harder time with that.
