I don't know about that. The economic destruction wreaked by being branded a felon, losing the years of one's life where one is most likely to develop valuable skills, and the assimilation into criminal culture that pervades America's prisons is difficult to overstate. The fact that there are substantial racial disparities in drug sentencing
is well studied, but perhaps not as well known as it should be. Additionally, I would have liked to have seen these two engage in a robust discussion of the destructive influence of minimum wage laws on increasing unemployment in the black community, particularly in the demographic disproportionately likely to be fucked over by our insane national drug policy.
