Re: The Passion of the Blog
I'd have to take huge exception to the statement that the differences between Clinton and Obama are small. I was volunteering on the Obama campaign before he took off among African-Americans, and almost all the fellow volunteers I talked to were driven by one thing: Clinton's support for the Iraq war and later her support for Kyl-Lieberman (which carries the risk that the Bush administration would interpret it as authorizing military action against Iran).
As a boomer, I'm old enough to remember when American young men were being fed into the meat grinder of the Vietnam war- long after it was clear that the war made no sense and served no purpose. I'm not a pacifist, but I want the US to engage only in wars that are NECESSARY, SMART, and JUSTIFIED. Given the Clintons' history of triangulating when under pressure from the right wing, I can easily see her caving and embarking on more ill-considered wars of choice. That's only one difference (between Clinton and Obama) but it's a big one.
