Weakness. Getting the last word is less than desirable when you have nothing of substance to add. And declaring victory under such circumstances makes you look delusional. I notice you didn't go to the tired Fannie and Freddie meme, and for that you get points. I would have nullified that by pointing out they that they were not the only ones involved.

The old financial regulations would have prevented in house collusion between bankers, lenders, insurance providers and brokerages. They never would have been under one roof, and incentivised to risk FDIC insured capital for risky short term gains.

In the end, the risks are taken by lenders, and when the laws are eliminated, the standards for lending are set by them. Blaming consumers is just obvious blame shifting, made even more obvious by all the adjustable rate offerings.

You seem to want to rewrite this history, because it payed off for the Wall Street pigs, and that's fine. But as for those who took the hit, you know what they say about those who don't learn.....
