Default What's wrong with Facebook and Twitter (Michael Albert & Hamish Campbell)

If we can't comment on diavlogs, then let's post content from other sites.

This conversation between Michael Albert and Hamish Campbell about Facebook and Twitter also applies to the downgrade from vBulletin to Disqus.

Notice, how the constantly shifting, hyperactive, Hamish Campbell, who can't seem to listen nor comprehend an entire sentence proves Michael Albert's point.

Who is who? Which is which? It seems like the one fellow is the interviewer and one is the interviewee.

But the thing about lack of concentration rings true for me. I have found that recently I pull up an article, read the first paragraph and go to the last paragraph and scan the middle. So much painstaking writing never gets read...at least by me.

Michael Albert (the guy on the right) runs Znet. (think Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Democracy Now, etc.) He himself mostly promotes a form of anarcho-syndicalism that he calls Parecon (participatory economics), which essentially means that everybody gets to be a plumber, a neuro surgeon and a cole miner for one hour each day and all of production and your personal consumption of toilet paper will have to be negotiated in confusingly interconnected producer and consumer councils. This is supposedly a superior alternative to central planning.

His analysis of the left is pretty interesting and he promotes the establishment of proof of concept as opposed to the constant spreading of suffocating negativity.

I always wanted to be a neurosurgeon!

There's another superior alternative to central planning. I wonder if he's ever heard of the free market. I'm told it works nicely.

The essence of your comment inspires me to want to snark. But I'll refrain so as to support the idea of free flowing and self-generated commenting here with the support of the superior vBulletin.

Not much snow this season for you in the Eastern Sierra's? Global Warming, right?

No there isn't and it's pretty depressing for a lot of people for a lot of reasons. But Tioga Pass is still open so we are taking our sorry little asses up to Yosemite National Park to lick our wounds.

Not much talk of global warming (isn't that supposed to be climate change? the IPCC says so). People around here talk about weather.
