I've always found that sort of "postmodern" agnosticism to be trite and boring. Yes, in an epistemological sense, one cannot be 100% sure that God (or a teapot circling Jupiter, to paraphrase Russell) doesn't exist, but 99.9% is good enough for me.

As others have said, should you be agnostic about Santa Claus? Leprechauns? The existence of any of the 4,000 gods currently being worshipped on the planet? Frankly, the "God question" was solved centuries ago; what remains is a educational/political/PR battle against anti-science forces such as the US religious right.

Personally, I'm an "apatheist" -- I think religion provides uninteresting answers to uninteresting questions. As Carl Sagan said, the God concept is so limiting and provincial.
