why should health care be tied to employment? If you actually have a belief that people should have something like a "right" to healthcare then dissociating that right from the happenstances of employment is almost a necessity. Further, by breaking that association, you allow people to be far more mobile in their job situations and more entrepeneurial because taking a chance on your finances does not mean you are rolling the dice on your children's healthcare.
