Something on the economic implications of the U.S. debt problem...Pretty please?
I haven't seen much of anything in the way of discussions about the economic implications of the U.S. debt problem. I'm much less interested in the political gaming of next year's budget and what it means for the 2012 presidential race--that kind of commentary comes quick and cheap--than I'd be in a discussion by two economists on opposing sides of this issue. Say, a Mankiw vs. Krugman-type debate.
I doubt you'd be able to get those exact people, given their other commitments, but surely some smart economists could be dug up.
I know talks between economists get a lot less traffic than some other topics, but this stuff is really important, IMO.
