Re: Science Saturday: Celestial Couch Potatoes (John Horgan & George Johnson)

I want to thank everyone here for their heartening and generous comments -- a fine gift on an otherwise difficult Christmas Eve. I also want to thank Bob Wright, Sang Ngo, David Killoren, Brian...

Re: Science Saturday: Radioactive Edition (John Horgan & George Johnson)

Thank you. Here is the study I was thinking of: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12644540?dopt=Citation. Ten-year lung cancer risk for smokers varied "from 15% for a 68-year-old man who has smoked...

Re: Reaction to George's anti-blog

Brendan,

Thank you for that. Your points are well taken. I do follow quite a few blogs. I think the ones you mention would fall into the category I described in my post:

Re: Science Saturday: The New Paradigm

Thank you all for your moral support. It means a lot. I am definitely in a phase where capital punishment for property crimes seems like a good idea. But I suspect it will pass.

Re: Pills

Yes, indeed. I hadn't noticed that John said he was a Republican. Ouch. And I misspoke early on when I said the universe is 13 billion miles instead of light-years in radius.
