PS: not that I personally care that much, like MIA said, I give a sh*t about this sport, but hey, some friends do. So cheers to them!

I don't personally care much either (I like football, but don't strongly like or dislike either of the teams involved). I found myself rooting for the Patriots, weirdly enough, since I'd planned to root for the Giants. Eh, oh well.

A co-worker (and big Pats fan) was at the game, and said the halftime show was really impressive when seen from the stands.

I was loyal to my geographic location and favored the Giants. But I only watched the last five minutes of the game.

I read about the halftime show and watched some posted videos of the performance. Meh.

Good timing on your part. From the Giants perspective, let alone a viewer --whether fair weather or fanatical follower-- the last five minutes mattered the most.

As to the performance, yeah, you can't expect much from an arena performance. Lip-synching issues as well as conveyance to the home viewer zap any intimate value. Flipping the bird isn't revolutionary. But neither is playing it safe and tidy. A cynic sees it as mere self promotion and a fan cheers the courage. MIA is the new Madonna in respect to appropriating her own image. I'm hardly phased by the music but I like the imagery. Check this out for fun (maybe not?):

Heh. I never liked Madonna much, and I suspect I won't like MIA either. So much dust in that video gave me a headache. ;)

Ma Rainey, used to put on quite a show!! she said that "people would come from miles around to see "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" "!!
