It's not pity, but she does remind me of someone I knew a long time ago. It's more like looking at an stereotype. It can't be changed.

I'm so sorry. I didn't understand the rules. You insult me and post an article and I'm supposed to be nice and agree wholeheartedly.

But nevertheless, great response, Ocean. And you did so much to demonstrate your knowledge of the subject you 'believe in" so fervently. I'm extraordinarily impressed!

Let's do a little reprise of your ad hominem comments to me since this thread began and compare these to my characterization of you as silly. I will admit that 1,2 and 3 aren't horrible. But once you got up to speed your true colors came shining through:

1)this petty stuff that you seem to find so important

2)you've been clinging to anything that could possibly blemish the idea of AGW

3)we should just let you go on with it until it gets warm enough for you up in those beautiful mountains

4) We've got to admit that your determination and stubbornness sometimes seem to outweigh your ignorance and lack of reasoning skills.

5)Trying to discuss this topic with you is like talking to a rock, it doesn't hear, it doesn't understand, it doesn't see and of course, it doesn't reason.

6)see if you can open up your mind a bit.

7)Yes, bitter Alice, you're tiring too!

This is almost too good to post here but what the hey?

We check the main predictions of the climate models against the best and latest data. Fortunately the climate models got all their major predictions wrong. Why? Every serious skeptical scientist has been consistently saying essentially the same thing for over 20 years, yet most people have never heard the message – here it is, put simply enough for any lay reader willing to pay attention.

This is too good to leave to a lonely new thread:

Those evil oil companies better start stepping it up on the funding side. They need to keep up with bilyuns and bilyuns of taxpayer money.

Thank goodness it's for a good cause...saving the planet and all.

This puts this little rant in perspective. All one has to do these days is say 'powerful special interests' and all is forgiven. The ignorance is stunning.

But when powerful vested interests seek to leverage psychological denial as a weapon against scientists, against democracy and against the public interest then it is the duty of every rational human being to oppose them.

Santorum Takes Climate Change Denial To A Biblical Level

Quote:

“When you have a worldview that elevates the Earth above man and says that we can’t take those resources because we’re going to harm the Earth; by things that frankly are just not scientifically proven, for example, the politicization of the whole global warming debate — this is all an attempt to, you know, to centralize power and to give more power to the government,” Santorum said.
Are you two in cahoots?

Re: More on Fakegate!

I actually don't talk much to people about their political views so I have found it very interesting to observe the stuff that has gone on in these forums and I think I have learned some things about the liberal mind.

Countless times (because I don't want to take the time to count) Ocean, the psychiatrist (I am thinking more like a receptionist at a psychiatrist's office) has chastised me for not wanting to engage in reasonable debate with her and her tribe.

I have really tried to figure out what we could be debating because what I get from this bunch is that they are convinced that there is something horrible afoot because all of their friends agree that there is, they are very concerned about it (although probably not doing anything about it) and anyone who doesn't think as they do is the most hateful sort of person on the planet. This is what debating people on the left is about. If you don't agree with them on their pet issues, that is the end of you.

However if you agree with them, then you can chuckle with your buddies about what an insufferable jerk that other person is.

And never in all of these posts has even one of these geniuses demonstrated the slightest knowledge about the science they claim to extoll. They are worried because people they like have told them to be worried. Ignorant, hypocritical and mean is what I have come, through my years at BHTV forums, to understand liberals to be.

So this will be my last post. But since I started out in the Gleick mode, I'll keep to that.

The debate is over.

So this will be my last post.

But your stubborn ignorance continues unabated in the new and unimproved bhtv forum. There you cheerlead your fellow travelers while mocking and scorning whatever you perceive as liberal. Total projection ... not a whit of consideration -- let alone ability, as evidenced in your approach to the climate issues -- for debate. Sure, you've switched over to the less brazen auntalice persona, but the incessant appeals to the authority of your know-nothing talk radio heroes has increased in frequency as sensible opposition has fled that cesspool.
Victory is yours. Enjoy.

Fitting that "badhatharry" chooses to announce her departure under a thread called Fakegate!

Because you're too chicken to spew your poison unless you're hiding behind a pseudonym, isn't that right, Alice? Why'd you take down your avatar pointing to your workshop's website, huh?

Pathetic.

Even more pathetic. Admit it: you're tormented by your feelings of inferiority, particularly towards other women.

Y'know, I tried for years to get you to spend some of your time outside of your echo chamber, to visit something other than your pet denialist blogs and the other wingnuts sites that do nothing except reinforce your prejudice and applaud your ignorance. I'm not surprised you wouldn't listen, but I am going to say I told you so.

Yeah, sure, whatever, Alice. You mean, the last post under the name badhatharry, amirite?

Tell 'fur and look I said hey.
