This was an interesting conversation. Great to hear from a new voice, especially one behind such a great blog.

Nate: If you're checking in, I wonder if you saw this and have any reaction: A weakness in fivethirtyeight.com. I haven't had a chance to read it closely yet, but I'd be interested in your thoughts. (Maybe you've already responded on your own site -- I'll have to look.)

Yipee, Biden is VP!!!

The Biden choice was a wise one for Obama. Nate's criticism from his blog post about Biden's poll numbers misses the point, because people don't vote for the VP. A VP should fill in some gap in the presidential candidate's resume without causing harm, and Biden does just that.

The big benefit is that this takes away the Who-Are-These-Guys feeling that could turn undecided voters toward McCain at the last moment.
