I think I even enjoyed it more than Xmen First class because of the surprise of this film. I went in expecting milk toast all round and got a fantastic movie instead.

Found it much more satisfying than Harry Potter, or green lantern, or thor, and definitely transformers.

Some might recoil from the name with general aversions to blatant patriotic cheerleading, but where transformers started with the autobots intervening in the middle east, this starts with a man. A man with the kind of attitude that would make even the most jaded person warm to once seen on screen.

I enjoyed it. I thought it captured the spirit of the old serials and the early comic books, at least as viewed through the lens of the modern ones.

Captain America is a very good comic book, by the way, very underrated.

I'm still waiting for Secret Wars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_Wars). I was only ever a serious collector for a short period as a kid, but this little series was a neat concept.

A propos of nothing, other than a shared lyric, this song was on my Pandora today, and it fit both the Captain America theme and our current situation, if things don't get resolved well:

Now I'm calling all citizens from all over the world
This is Captain America calling
I bailed you out when you were down on your knees
So will you catch me now I'm falling

And this comes to mind:

As you sow so shall you reap.

Interesting and disturbing idea if it were to be applied to our global problems.
