I'm at sixes and sevens and experiencing serious ennui. Would anyone be interested in discussing some books? Here, chosen basically at random, is a reading list (http://whippersnapper.wordpress.com/2010/03/23/10-actually-12-influential-books/#comment-8416) that would, if nothing else, make for some great one-liners and serious posturing. Bearing in mind his tortured duality, I was hoping our Florian would moderate the first book, either Orientalism or How Natives Think.

Thank you, Look, for your double-edged endorsement, double entente.

I wonder if others would be interested. I read both books a while ago. Said's thesis in Orientalism has been so thoroughly raked over the coals that I am not sure there is much point in debating it.
