Someone on one of the other threads mentioned American Psycho the movie and I didn't want to derail the conversation there, but wanted to pass along this very enjoyable tribute. (even more enjoyable if you liked Talking Heads):

Geez that guy was almost a dead ringer for christian bale, sounds good. Glad he redid the scene with him posing in the mirror, that was hysterical. The related videos have a couple of classic scenes. One is a compilation of Bateman's meditations on phils collins, huey lewis, whitney houston. No nudity but definitely adult situations and language for those who are sensitive to such things.

Yeah, I have to admit, that clip is my happy place, along with Richard Cheese:

Incidentally, apparently, Tom Cruise was the inspiration for Christian Bale's interpretation of Bateman:

"How did you and Christian Bale develop his character in American Psycho?
It was definitely a process. We talked a lot, but he was in L.A. and I was in New York. We didnít actually meet in person a lot, just talked on the phone. We talked about how Martian-like Patrick Bateman was, how he was looking at the world like somebody from another planet, watching what people did and trying to work out the right way to behave. And then one day he called me and he had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and he just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy."

That line about Cruise is hysterical ! Although I will say that Cruise did a great job on Magnolia.

I just wanted to mention that I thought Christian Bale was tremendous in this movie. By the way, we really ought to have a movie thread.

Yeah he was really good and I don't care how many lighting assistants he has to yell at to stay in character :)

I don't frequent the non diavlog-comment areas so I don't know if there isn't a movie thread already. It's a good idea since as a community you need to see peoples commonality as well as their differences.
