What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence

I'm familiar with the line, but did not realize (or remember) that it came from Hitch. Thanks.

And thanks for the link -- a good read overall.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but this gets back to evidenciary claims about the super-natural, and is probably the closest thing to what I was trying to say (http://saltycurrent.blogspot.com/2010/11/no-there-cant-be-evidence-for-god.html) about Bob's direction=possible-existence-of-God argument which I always found to be very flawed.

Since that argument is settled in my mind, I ended up liking his earlier post better: "How To Write About Gnu Atheists, A Guide (http://saltycurrent.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-to-write-about-gnu-atheists-guide.html)" (via "The accommodationist manual of style (http://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com/2010/11/05/the-accommodationist-manual-of-style/).")

On a tangential note, I wonder if Richard Stallman will applaud the repurposing or object to encroachment on his brand name. (He is kind of religious (http://stallman.org/saintignucius.jpg), as you may know.)

P.S. I think you made a very good choice about where to post.
