Jon Stewart devotes the better part of this segment (http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-may-5-2010/american-apparently) (starting at around 3:30 in) to the popular phrase, "the American People want ________, "asserting that "the American people" is a meaningless phrase that should be struck from public utterance along with phrases such as "Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee." Someone should tell Stewart that such an action has already been proposed right here in the BhTV forums (http://bloggingheads.tv/forum/showpost.php?p=153353&postcount=1) and that it already has a name (http://bloggingheads.tv/forum/showpost.php?p=153358&postcount=1).
