Sorry if I'm gumming up the works here, but I couldn't find where else to place this query. I haven't been able to figure out how to insert dingalinks in the Comments. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

Assuming that you are able to create one (to the extent that you've marked the endpoints and are satisfied with the results when you click Replay Clip), the next steps are:

1. Click Copy Url. (You'll see the button's label change to "Copied!")

2. Go to where you want to post the dingalink, and begin as you would to post any other comment.

3. Do whatever you do to "paste," as when you're copying and pasting text; e.g., Ctrl-v (Command-v), through the browser's Edit menu, etc. The link will appear in the body of the comment, looking something like this:

http://bloggingheads.tv/diavlogs/7460?in=00:38&out=00:49

and when you publish your comment, it will automatically turn into a clickable hyperlink, looking like this:

http://bloggingheads.tv/diavlogs/7460?in=00:38&out=00:49

3A. For fanciness, you can make a word or phrase in your comments into a clickable dingalink, just as with any other link. To do this, select (highlight) the text you want to turn into a link and then click the link button above the textarea box. (Looks like this: http://bloggingheads.tv/forum/images_bhtv/editor/createlink.gif) The result, in your textarea box, will look something like this:

valuable advice (http://bloggingheads.tv/diavlogs/7460?in=00:38&out=00:49)

and will present as this:

valuable advice (http://bloggingheads.tv/diavlogs/7460?in=00:38&out=00:49)

4. Finish adding whatever text you want to your comment, optionally Preview it, and then click Submit.

More details upon request.

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide such detailed instructions! I will give it a try and see how it works.

Hey, success! I even managed to do it the "fancy" way:

Yeah, I was wondering if there was going to be a mention of Clouthier in today's TWIB, considering her performance last week.

To begin with, I have always appreciated Matt Lewis' intelligence and open-mindedness, and have said as much in these forums. It was good to have him back.

It was nice of Scher and Lewis to stand up for Clouthier in the face of the overwhelmingly critical comments directed at her, but as far as I am concerned, she earned them. Clouthier's confrontational stance, and her repeatedly resorting to political boilerplate, were at cross-purposes to the whole point of TWIB, which as Scher and Lewis themselves point out, is not to score political points (http://bloggingheads.tv/diavlogs/26650?in=33:24&out=33:39), but to provide an overview and analysis of the blogosphere. Clouthier seemed to be trying to turn the diavlog into the what Lewis describes as "the modern Crossfire thing (http://bloggingheads.tv/diavlogs/26650?in=33:52&out=34:13)," which is exactly what TWIB is not supposed to be.

Thanks again.
