View Full Version : SpeakerText takes Dingalinks to the next level

I was at the New York Tech Meetup last night and saw a presentation by a company called SpeakerText that matches a video segment up with its transcript, allowing users to select any portion of the transcript and create a dingalink (though they don't use the word) to corresponding part of the video. Then not only can clips be excerpted and mailed/blogged/tweeted a la dingalinks, but the text of the talk is searchable and indexed to the video.

You should really check this out - I think they said that transcription was running at $20 per hour of video.

Their website is at http://speakertext.com/ (http://speakertext.com/browse.php)

Some of the audio of Supreme Court oral arguments on oyez.org are indexed in a way that sounds similar to this. It's pretty cool. Scalia speaks, there's a transcript, and a little Scalia mugshot comes up. Then you can go "Next Scalia," "Previous Scalia" ,etc.
