A while back there was some thought given to try to make the board more civil.

Apparently Bjkeefe has not embraced this sentiment, as he is recklessly throwing around accusations of racism against people who he disagrees with, as illustrated by this post:

You should not tolerate such reckless accusations of racism.

Why does a self-described "madisonian (http://www.jamesmadisoncenter.org/)" want to suppress free speech?

There is no such thing as free speech on private message boards. Bob could arbitrarily to ban all members who use the word "blue". As it so happens, that would not be particularly beneficial. Upholding a standard of civility, on the other hand, is.

And yet, Brendan remains unbanned. Standards of civility, btw, are no more important than standards of intellectual honesty, which of course is what's been at stake in all the back and forth with you today.

A porous rationalization of uncivil behavior.

A porous rationalization of uncivil behavior.

Heh? What rationalization?

No matter, I'll provide that now. Poking fun at your not very efficiently constructed agitprop and taking note of how well it fits into the not particularly well-masked crypto-racist blarney making the right wing media rounds presently may not be very polite, but isn't quite out of line, either.

I don't know why, but this thread seems like an appropriate place for this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0cm0QUUlAk).

On a more serious note ...

I'm sure that, like kidney, cog.mad. knows better, and is just blowing this stale smoke because he's can't deal with his frustrations any other way than by running to tell Mommy.

However, anyone new to this board who's worried should know this: this "moderator" crap is a red herring. Always has been, always will be. This has been going on for a year now (http://bloggingheads.tv/forum/showthread.php?p=94785#post94785), and it always comes from the same small handful of people -- those whose massively inflated egos mislead them into thinking they should be able to shoot their mouths off without having to be subject to being called out for what they are.
