Now you know. It was done by a man called David Warner for a game called Baldur's Gate II. He voiced the character of one Jon Irenicus, a power mad mage bent on godhood. Notice the anger and hatred in his voice, the raw untempered arrogance and fury.

Call me irrational, call me a bigot, but any time an actor uses an upper crust British accent when they're playing a non-British role it just pisses me off. I guess elves are a little bit better than when the role is something like ancient Romans or Greeks but it still gets to me.
