I gotta say she's just more and more impressive, the more I see of her. Super smart, and a proud liberal, and not too over-the-top on snark. We need more like her.

I could not agree more.

Did you happen to see the show tonight? She had David Frum on as a guest, and right out of the gate, Frum compared her to the recent mobs we've seen at McCain and Palin events. Maddow did an amazing job handling the slander.

Earlier today I noticed that Frum was being beaten up over at The Corner. Apparently he said wrote something critical of Palin, and as a reward was invited to do an interview on CBS. This was considered traitorous by his corner mates. So, I suspect he slandered Maddow to immunize himself from further accusations from his right flank that he is providing aid and comfort to the left.

Frum responds (http://frum.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MjNiOTBhN2IwMmU1YjJiOTkzZDMxN2VjNWQ5NmFmOTc=) on his blog.

LOL

Best line: Frum says, "Sarah Palin cannot speak three coherent consecutive words about finance or economics."

Go, David! http://www.thecentralword.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif

What's astonishing is the number of conservatives who just don't care that Palin is so unqualified.

Rachel says she "likes debating", but she really prefers to disguise her passive-aggressiveness under humor. Like Keith Olbermann, she has real problems with people who can't think like elitists do. Also, like Keith she prefers to use her position to political advantage.

Do your time in social work and then tell everyone else how to live and what to think. Isn't it all just so amusing!

Look! It's a FOX in the mirror!

Thanks for the link, Twin. That was fun.

I really liked the way she characterized the debate: Obama appearing presidential, and McCain appearing as nothing more than a guy who didn't want Obama to be president. I think, even if one prefers McCain to Obama, there is no arguing with that, especially the latter part.

I haven't seen her a whole lot (not being a TV watcher), but I will say that I have watched about 25-50 segments online since she got her own show, and I have never, not once, seen her act anything like the way you describe.

And is your use of the term "social work" a cheap attempt to demean her degrees in public policy and political science? Because as far as I know, that has never been her job.

Sounds to me like you just don't like her because she's a liberal and is about 100x more pleasant and 1000x smarter than anyone on Fox. Am I right?

Final question: does "can't think like elitists do" mean anything besides "dumb?" And if not, are you saying there's something wrong with having no patience for debating with dumb people?

No, one more: how, specifically, does she "use her position to political advantage?"
