The marketplace of ideas at work.

No, no, no. What you're seeing in that video is the small town values of Real Americans(TM).

What's the point of this? Is this a way to make others want to have contempt for McCain voters? Do you think that there aren't a large chunk of thoughtless, sneering Obama voters? Just want to laugh at some stupids?

It's pre-election decadence. Remember I said before that this pre-election frenzy is tiring?

The point is to illustrate the failure of our political system to resemble the theoretical "marketplace of ideas" in which we would achieve good outcomes through rational examination of ideas, policies, and priorities, rather than dumbly buying into any tale suggesting that our identified ingroup/party is right, good, and wonderful and any other group or party is wrong, bad, and evil, regardless of how idiotic that tale may be.

And yes, half of humor is laughing at stupidity and the misfortune of others. Thats why people laugh at the three stooges when Curly bends over to pick something up and Moe turns around with a long board in his hands and whacks Curly in the butt. If you can't laugh at stupidity, you had better learn to enjoy crying instead.
